Ode to Joy is a great song to learn on the piano early on because it teaches you how to place your hands the right way on the piano. You get to use every finger in your right hand which will force you to develop some coordination and finger strength as well!

This site rules! I’m going to show this to our piano students
(This is our music school in Seattle.. Stop by for a free lesson if you’re ever visiting!)
The sheet music was cool how the letters was written in. That helped so much. Thanks.
That was pretty good, I learned it in 8 minutes after I printed off the music. I need to practice it to make it smoother. How about a bluesy version???
Very good post.
Excellent presentation thank You.
cheers Bruno
Thanks Bruno!
Great site! This was really an easy way for me (a piano playing newbie) to get a feel for proper finger placement. Definite thumbs up
Thanks Bruno! I like the fact that you gave us the music and showed us how to play it properly. (Newbie of Newbie’s)
Thanks Dale!
When you’re learning how to read sheet music, it helps to see a video that shows you how its supposed to sound.
Hi Chris!

Makes crystal seem muddy.
Well done. I’m thrilled with the arrangement and your method of presentation. This piece that I l always thought was so difficult is quite easy the way you teach it.
Excellent teacher
Love the site!
Wow! I thought I was already using an easier free lesson on the internet but I was wrong. This tutorial is way easier and plus I learn to read the notes and the proper placement of my fingers.
I wish you can also add the song entitled “What Kind of Fool Am I” Jerry Vale sang it.
Thank you for your free and interesting lessons!
